Sometimes, you need to go far away to learn how to love where you are from. It doesn't mean you prefer a place to another, you're a combination of the lands you experienced. I do see now the beauty of the landscapes I grew up with. I do understand why my family can be attached to our region. I do understand why my grandpa loved to walk with us in the nature he grew up with. I do love the silence waking on my side and just listening the sounds of the leaves in the trees, hearing the wind, watching these colors, this contrast, feeling a painting in front of my eyes. Sometimes you need time to see.
To my grandpa, forever.

Victor Escarate-Cruz took part to the #marchforourlives in Washington DC, on March 24. Victor, 20 years old, is amazed how "gun control is out of hand" in USA. He hopes that "more people are gonna to vote" this year. He adds: "I just want something to happen, anything but something happens with voting". Victor is "proud of [his] generation. These kids are doing a tremendous job." He concludes " there are crowds of people right now. So it's not just [his] generation". He thought "people would just ignore" because there are protests more frequently but this not the case.

@jenn_cole_ , 17 years old attends the #Marchforourlives, in Washington DC on March 24. Jennifer participated to the Women's March in 2017. She couldn't vote this year because she won't be 18 in November at the time of the mid-term elections but she realized she could take part in the change, by attending marches and rallies. She adds : "there is something I can do, I can march, I can make my voice heard. It's my way to make Congress listen". Jennifer feels that her generation "is not taking seriously well because they said we are too young to have any political opinions". However, she notices "these kids, they are old enough to die because of these issues (gun control), so we should be old enough to talk about that and get a voice. I think this is the main issue our generation is facing right now".

Jennifer Cole, 17 ans, réside à Washington. Elle aussi a participé à la Marche des femmes de 2017. Elle n'aura pas encore atteint l'âge nécessaire pour voter en novembre, mais elle s'est aperçue qu'elle pouvait contribuer au changement d'une autre façon, en participant notamment à des rassemblements ou manifestations. Elle ajoute : « C'est ma façon de faire en sorte que le congrès entende ma voix. »Jennifer a souvent l'impression que sa génération « n'est pas prise au sérieux parce qu'ils et elles sont trop jeunes et ne seraient pas en âge d'avoir des opinions politiques ». Elle remarque cependant qu'ils et elles sont « assez vieux pour mourir à cause de problèmes tels que les armes à feu et qu'ils et elles devraient alors être en mesure de pouvoir participer au débat ». Selon elle, le principal défi de sa génération sera d'être entendue.

Au rassemblement de la seconde édition de la marche des Femmes, Shantall Richardson attire l'attention des manifestants présents ; 200 000 au total, samedi 20 janvier 2018, dans les rues de New York. Concernée par les problèmes sociaux tels que la discrimination, le racisme, le harcèlement sexuel ou encore le mouvement Black Lives Matter, elle s'est engagée depuis quatre mois en tant que bénévole au sein du mouvement organisateur de la marche.

A year after the first Women's March, it happens again. In NYC, we were about 200 000 people to march together for women's rights, human rights, fundamental rights... If the purpose was more about getting women elected in the next mid term elections in USA, it remains about global issues : misogyny, racism, sexism, xenophobia. The energy there makes the event a precious gift.
